CARIBOU – Ronald Scott Melbourne 46, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at home with his family by his side. Ron was born in St. Petersburg, Fla., son of Earl and Lillian (Deaton) Melbourne.
Ron served proudly in the U.S. Air Force for many years, and later with Defense Finance and Accounting Services in Limestone.
Ron is survived by his wife, Lisa (Patten); children, Stephen M. Melbourne of Caribou, Zachary V. Jones of Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama and Courtney E. Jones of Jacksonville Naval Air Station in Florida. He also leaves behind his brother, Butch Melbourne and wife, Nancy, of Arizona; mother-in-law, Rachel (Parent) Patten; brother-in-law, Scott Patten; granddaughter, Riley Jones; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; and two great-aunts, Carolyn and Lois. He will also be especially missed by his close friends, Bobby Arsenault, Troy Howlett, Troy Whitehead, Darrell Sterling, Ron Rosser and Bill Andrews. In addition, he will be missed by his “furry children,” dogs, Sydney, Addie and Joey. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Sharon Mayberry; and father-in-law, Jeffrey Patten.
Friends and family may call 9-11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou, where a memorial service will be held 11a.m. with the Rev. Ron Rosser officiating. A reception will be after the services at Limestone Country Club. There will be a private interment at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to Halfway Home Pet Rescue, P.O. Box 488, Caribou, ME 04736.
