A $2 million winning Powerball ticket was sold in Canaan, according to a release from the Maine State Lottery.
The ticket for the Saturday, Feb. 23, drawing was sold at the Canaan Superette, according to the release.
“We don’t know who the winner is,” said Tom Ward, who owns the Canaan store. “All of us here are talking about it and wondering who it might be. It would be nice if it was one of our regulars, but I guess we’ll have to wait and find out.”
Canaan Superette will receive $20,000 for selling the winning ticket, the release said.
