Bingham man accused of domestic violence criminal mischief

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

WATERVILLE, Maine — A Bingham man with a prior domestic violence assault conviction is facing a felony charge after he tore up his girlfriend’s residence early Saturday, police said.

Bruce Beane, 42, is accused of domestic violence criminal mischief, a Class C felony due to his prior conviction, Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said Monday. Beane is being held at the Kennebec County Jail.

Police were called to Pleasant Street around 6:30 a.m. Saturday when it was reported Beane was walking down the street with his shirt off and throwing things, Rumsey said.

He was located outside his girlfriend’s apartment yelling with another man, Rumsey said. Beane and the woman had gotten into an argument, prompting Beane to destroy the interior of the living room, according to Rumsey.

Officers took Beane into custody and brought him to jail. His first court date is March 19.
