BAR HARBOR – Charlotte E. Proctor, 87, a long time resident of Bar Harbor, died peacefully March 1, 2013, in Bar Harbor. She was born April 27, 1925, in Bar Harbor, the daughter of C. Leslie and Annie (Ahlblad) Brewer.
Charlotte graduated from Bar Harbor High School and Westbrook College. After college she married the love of her life, Tyler Proctor and moved back to Bar Harbor. Charlotte worked for many years at Franklin Shoe Store and Golden Anchor Inn, both of Bar Harbor. She was known for her many skills and talents that she shared in her community work with Bar Harbor Handicraft Sale, St. Saviours Episcopal Church and Mount Desert Island Hospital. She is especially known within her family for her knitting. She loved music and singing in St. Saviours choir and was an accomplished bridge player and leaves her many friends behind.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Tyler Proctor III; her wonderful granddaughter, Elizabeth Proctor; brother, Leslie C. Brewer of Bar Harbor; sister, Dorothy Brewer Erickson; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Tyler Proctor; and her daughter, Anna.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at St. Saviours Episcopal Church, 41 Mount Desert St., Bar Harbor, with the Rev. Tim Fleck presiding. Spring burial will be at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
