BANGOR, Maine — Police are releasing few details about a suspicious package that was found at the Pickering Square bus station Friday afternoon, said Bangor police Sgt. Garry Higgins.

“There is an investigation,” is all the sergeant would say.

The package was found at the bus station and investigators also went to High Street around 2 p.m. as part of the investigation, Higgins said. High Street was closed for a short while, but it was reopened by 4 p.m.

Lt. Tim Reid, who heads the Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, is handling the criminal investigation, the sergeant said.
