INMAN, S.C. – Elliott Bradford Bauss, 89, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Magnolia Manor. Born Dec. 19, 1923, in Springfield, Mass., he was the son of the late Herman Gottlieb and Marion Ruth Lee Bauss.
A decorated, retired veteran of the U.S. Navy, 1940-1960, he served in World War II and received the Purple Heart among other awards. After he retired from the Navy he worked in the private sector in food service and also for General Dynamics. He was a member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church and a Mason.
Surviving is his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary Robb Thomson Bauss; daughter, Carol L. Bauss of Belfast; son, Bradford L. Bauss and wife, Celia, of Inman, S.C.; and granddaughters, Lindsay R. Bauss, Sarah E. Bauss, and Megan L. Bauss, all of Inman, S.C.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 4180 SC No. 9, Boiling Springs, S.C., by the Rev. Alan Leonard. Visitation will be after in the church Narthex. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC, 29303.
