BRUNSWICK, Maine — Brunswick police apprehended a 21-year-old Brunswick man during a snowstorm late Sunday morning who allegedly was throwing snowballs inside a Bowdoin College dining facility.
Brunswick police Sgt. Russ Wrede said police issued summonses to Christopher Scott, 21, of Brunswick, charging him with assault and refusing to submit to arrest.
Wrede said Scott allegedly went inside a college dining facility and attempted to hit an elderly woman with a snowball, nearly missing her head. He proceeded to pelt the dining facility manager and then college security officers with snowballs, Wrede said.
Scott’s conduct “rose to the level of assault charges,” Wrede said.
When police responded at around 11 a.m., Scott allegedly either walked or jogged away anytime officers got close, but gave no reason.
Scott, who is not a student at Bowdoin College, was also issued a criminal trespass warning for college property, and a disorderly conduct warning, according to Wrede.
