BANGOR, Maine — Two of three teenagers charged in connection with a series of burglaries to homes and vehicles in Exeter in early December have been sentenced to three years with all but four months suspended.

In addition to time behind bars at the Penobscot County Jail, Superior Court Justice William Anderson sentenced Tyler Dean, 18, of Levant and Tyler Campbell, 19, of Corinth to two years of probation, according to court documents. The judge also ordered them to pay jointly $1,921 in restitution to victims.

Campbell was sentenced Friday and Dean was sentenced Monday at the Penobscot Judicial Center, according to court documents. Both men waived indictment and pleaded guilty to an array of charges that included burglary, burglary to a motor vehicle and theft. A charge of receiving stolen property lodged against each man was dismissed.

Information on the third defendant, who is a 17-year-old juvenile, was not available Tuesday. When the trio was arrested Dec. 9, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office declined to identify him but said he was charged with violation of his probation.

In addition to the Exeter break-ins, Dean waived indictment and pleaded guilty to one count of burglary at a home in Brewer. Dean, who admitted to committing that break-in alone, was sentenced to three years with all but four months suspended for that crime. The judge ordered him to serve that sentence and two years of probation at the same time he is serving the sentence and probation for the Exeter crimes.

Anderson also ordered Dean to pay $1,279 in restitution to the Brewer homeowner.

Penobscot County District Attorney R. Christopher Almy said Tuesday that Anderson accepted the plea agreements worked out between his office and the defendants’ defense attorneys.

On the most serious charge, Class B burglary, Dean and Campbell each faced up to 10 years in prison and fines of up to $20,000.
