Pauline Ruth Jones

TRESCOTT – Pauline Ruth Jones, a longtime resident of Washington County, passed away at the age of 91, Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, in Machias. Pauline was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Trescott, to the late Chester and Emily (Pressley) Maker.
She worked for 26 years in Boston, retiring from Stride Rite Shoe Corp. Later, Pauline made a career and also retired from Jones Store in Lubec. While living in Venice, Fla., she won many trophies and awards for her shuffleboard skills. Pauline was also a passionate Red Sox fan. In fact, Pauline was so passionate that she would turn off the game on television if they were losing.
She is survived by her two sons, Howard Jones and his wife, Patricia, of Lubec, and Richard Jones of Trescott and Venice, Fla.; daughter, Diane Black of Federal Way, Wash.; sister-in-law, Lovie Maker; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, many nieces and nephews.
A graveside ceremony will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Homes, Machias.
