PRESQUE ISLE – Donald E. Walton, 68, died peacefully Sunday Feb. 24, 2013 at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 7, 1944, in Presque Isle, the son of Philip and Marjorie (Hagerman) Walton Jr.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and Vietnam. He owned and operated Friendly Town Café in Washburn, worked at McCain Foods in Easton, and various other jobs. Don loved to tinker, working on cars and on the house, and was an amazing gardener.
He is survived by a son, Jarrod Walton and his wife, Mary, of Presque Isle; a daughter, Bree Walton of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; four brothers and their wives, Philip and Tammy Walton, Carroll and Lynn Walton, Brian and Mavis Walton, all of Presque Isle, Bruce and Beverly Walton of Caribou; two sisters, Becky Lavaway and her husband, Gary, of Presque Isle, and Gail “Penny” Graham of Easton, Pa.; a grandchild, Cooper James Walton; and a stepgrandchild, Taylor Anna Marie Daigle.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Larry Palmer officiating.
