Standish woman hurt in snowmobile rollover

By Dawn Gagnon, BDN Staff

STANDISH, Maine — A 23-year-old Standish woman was taken to a Portland hospital Saturday evening after injuring her foot in a snowmobile accident.

Aimee Davis was riding on a snowmobile with her mother and boyfriend when the sled went down an embankment at a low rate of speed, Maine Warden Service spokeswoman Caroline Hailey said Sunday.

Davis jumped off her snowmobile and landed on her belly. The snowmobile rolled on top of her while her right foot and leg were caught in the machine’s track, Hailey said.

Hailey said that game wardens indicated that Davis is an experienced rider and that there were no violations connected with the accident. Standish emergency rescue personnel transported Davis to Maine Medical Center for treatment of foot pain.
