WARREN, Maine — Selectmen will not hire a manager from the more than 30 candidates who applied for the post.
Board Chairman Doug Pope said Tuesday that the board has yet to decide what it will do next. He said there has been some discussion by the board about keeping interim manager Glenn Aho on the job longer than they had originally been expected.
Aho, who has served as interim manager since Nov. 12, succeeded Grant Watmough, whose last day on the job was Nov. 8. Watmough had served as town manager for 17 years and announced his retirement last year.
Pope said there is no definite time for how long Aho will stay in the post.
Aho said Thursday that there will have to be a discussion on that at some point but currently the board and administration are busy developing a proposed 2013-2014 budget for the annual town meeting on Tuesday, March 26.
Selectmen are expected to finalize the budget at meetings next Monday and Wednesday.
Aho has served as municipal manager in Auburn and, previously, in Lincoln.
An earlier version of this story contained an error. The annual Warren town meeting will be held in March, not June.
