Umpire Clinic

UMaine Camp

Noontime golf lessons

Brewer Parks & Rec is offering Tee Time Tuneup golf lessons, beginning Thursday, March 14, with two time slots available: noon-1 p.m. and 1:15 -2:15 p.m., running for four weeks, lessons are designed for players of all levels and will include fundamentals for the beginner as well as tips for the experienced player; instructor will be Mark Hall, PGA Professional; cost is $30 for residents and $35 for non-residents and class size will be limited to the first eight registered for each session; registration is available by contacting the Parks & Recreation office at 989-5199.

At Bangor, a 5K road race in memory of Bangor native Erin Woolley, who died of cancer in 2010, will take place along the Bangor Waterfront at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 27. The run will benefit Spruce Run and a scholarship in Erin’s memory through the University of Maine swimming and diving team, where she was a member. At Rangeley, USA Snowboard Association Slope-style event on Feb. 23 in the terrain park at Saddleback Mountain. Registration 7:30-8:30 a.m. in the Base lodge the day of event. $30 with season’s pass, $40 with lift ticket. Warm up, course inspection, then the judged event for style begins. Cross Country Ski Trails

At Bangor Municipal Course, 6 miles of groomed cross country ski trails, some trails have lights for nighttime skiing, no walking on trails and no snowmobiles on the course, for more info, contact Bangor Parks and Rec. at 992-4490.


Soccer clinic and food drive

At Bangor, Seacoast United Blackbear, in partnership with Darling’s Auto Group, will hold the Darlings Community Outreach Clinic & Food Drive for kids ages 7-14. Participants who donate to the food drive will have their name entered in a raffle for free admittance to a summer soccer camp. Clinic for 7-10-year-olds: 9-10:30 a.m.; and 11-14-year-olds: 10:30 a.m.-noon on Friday, Feb. 22, Fields4kids, located behind Beal College building at 129 Farm Road.
