Hancock County man reported missing

By Bill Trotter, BDN Staff

GOULDSBORO, Maine — Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for a resident who has been reported missing.

The missing man is George Tedesco, 46, who lives in the local village of Ashville, just off Route 1, according to Gouldsboro Police Chief Glenn Grant.

Tedesco was reported missing Wednesday, Grant said. His family contacted police.

“No one’s heard or seen him in about two weeks,” Grant said.

Tedesco is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall with brown eyes and brown hair that is balding in front. Tedesco lives by himself, is not employed, and is not known to have a vehicle he may have driven anywhere, according to the chief.

“We’re not really sure how he left the residence,” Grant said. “It’s not uncommon for him to go off for extended periods of time.”

Grant said the Maine Warden Service flew an airplane over the woods near Tedesco’s home on Wednesday to see if any trace of him could be found but came up empty. He said police don’t have any specific reason to believe Tedesco may be in the woods near his home.

“We just wanted to rule it out,” he said.

Police do not know what sort of clothing Tedesco may have been wearing when he left his house, he added.

“We’re hoping for the best,” Grant said.

Anyone with information about Tedesco can call Gouldsboro police through the Sheriff’s Department at 667-7575.
