ORRINGTON – Timothy M. Allen, 54, died unexpectedly Feb. 17, 2013, at his home. He was born April 10, 1958, at a Bangor hospital, the son of Paul L. and Lillian M. (Mackenzie) Allen.
Tim joined the National Guard out of high school and later went on to serve full-time in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Maryland. He served several years before coming home to his wife and son. Tim married his high school sweetheart, Rhonda H. Pelletier, whom he met in middle school. They were married on Valentine’s Day 1978. They celebrated 35 years of marriage this February. Tim worked at the James River Paper Mill, Old Town, later known as Georgia Pacific, where he worked from 1984 to 2003. In 2007 he became a driver for First Student. He enjoyed driving the school bus and was loved by many students at Center Drive School, Orrington, and John Bapst Memorial High School, Bangor. Tim was a simple man who loved kicking back to watch a Pats game with his sons and father. He was a music lover with a hidden talent; he could play any classic rock song on his Gibson and would spend Friday nights playing along to his favorite tunes with selections from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ten Years After and Stevie Ray Vaughn. He was a lover of nature and the outdoors; he enjoyed working in the yard and tending the vegetable garden. He liked to watch animals in the back yard and would tell stories of what he saw. He would often record nature programs on Animal Planet and insist we all come and watch with him. A simple night in was his idea of a good time. He spent many evenings watching TV and movies with his family. He was a man of few words, but he was very passionate about what he loved. Most of all, he loved his family.
He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda (Pelletier) Allen of Orrington; his sons, Keith of Old Town and Jason of Orrington; his daughter, Heather of Marblehead, Mass.; his brothers, Mike and his wife, Pam Allen, of Orrington, Paul and his wife, Onna, of Verona Island, Dennis and his wife, Susie, of Orrington and Wayne and his wife, Sherry, of Orrington; and sisters, Beth Alley of Orrington and Neva Leet of Orland; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
