Donna’s longtime desire to live in Maine came true when she and her husband moved to Carmel in April 2011. Donna and Dave have attended Carmel Church of Restoration since their arrival in Maine. They met in Bowie, Md., where they attended Cornerstone Assembly of God and were married June 17, 1989. Along with enjoying worship services at church, Donna loved writing poetry and documented many precious moments she had sitting at our Lord’s feet. Her other hobbies included camping, knitting, hiking, cooking and canoeing. Donna also enjoyed time with her little dog, Spirit Christmas Leissner; Spirit gave her much comfort especially in her final months.
A service celebrating her life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at Carmel Church of Restoration, Carmel, with the Rev. Tammy Noyes, pastor, officiating. Gifts on behalf of Donna may be made to Manna Ministries, 629 Main St., Bangor, ME 04401 or New Hope Hospice, P.O. Box 70, Eddington, ME 04428-0070.
