Hartford women nail 14 3-pointers, roll past Black Bears

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The University of Hartford connected for 14 3-pointers Wednesday night while breezing to an 82-56 America East women’s basketball victory over the University of Maine.

The Hawks shot 47 percent (14-for-30) from beyond the arc and shot 48 percent overall in posting the win at Chase Family Arena.

Amber Bepko led the barrage for Hartford (17-8, 8-4 AE) with five 3-pointers on her way to a team-high 21 points. Shanise Bultron also nailed five 3’s and finished with 18 points for the Hawks, who racked up 24 assists.

Junior Ashleigh Roberts spearheaded the charge for UMaine (2-22, 1-10 AE) with 23 points, four steals and three assists. Freshman Liz Wood contributed 15 points.

The Black Bears shot 39 percent overall, including 41 percent (7-for-17) from long distance.
