FALMOUTH, Maine — A Falmouth man was arrested Tuesday after police found a total of eight pounds of cocaine in his vehicle and home, making it one of the largest busts of its kind in recent memory, according to authorities.

Adam White, 26, is facing two charges of aggravated trafficking in cocaine, according to Department of Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland.

White’s Cadillac was pulled over by police in Portland on Stevens Avenue on Tuesday afternoon, and a search of the vehicle turned up a handgun and cocaine, according to McCausland.

A search warrant was issued for White’s Rockaway Drive home in Falmouth, and Maine Drug Enforcement agents found additional cocaine, $13,730 in cash, another handgun and three-quarters of a pound of marijuana, McCausland said. The cocaine found in White’s vehicle and home amounted to eight pounds.

In addition to the drugs, cash and weapons, packaging material, a money counter and scales were also seized from the home, the state police spokesman said. The estimated street value of the cocaine is between $160,000 and $200,000.

White is being held at the Cumberland County Jail on $75,000 cash bail. He was scheduled to appear in court in Portland later Wednesday.
