Comedy returns to the Bangor Waterfront for 2013 with Larry The Cable Guy, Bill Engvall

BANGOR, Maine — Comedy is set to come to the Bangor waterfront Saturday, Aug. 17, with Larry The Cable Guy, Bill Engvall, and special guests Reno Collier and Gary Brightwell.

Likely best known for his catchphrase “Git-R-Done,” Larry the Cable Guy is a multiplatinum recording artist, Grammy nominee and Billboard award winner.

William Ray “Bill” Engvall Jr. is a comedian and actor best known for his work as a stand-up comic and as a member of the Blue Collar Comedy group.

The last comedy show on the waterfront was Jeff Dunham in 2011.

Previously announced shows for the 2013 season at the newly named Darling’s Waterfront Pavillion include Darius Rucker, former front man for Hootie and the Blowfish, with opening acts Rodney Atkins and Jana Kramer on Friday, June 21, and rock legend Sting on Thursday, June 20.

The next show announcement is set for Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Ticket sales for the general public for Larry the Cable Guy begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15. Fans can purchase tickets — which start at $41.75 and run up to $97.95 (not including applicable fees) — by calling 800-745-300, going online at either waterfrontconcerts.com or ticketmaster.com, or buying them in person at Mark’s Music store at Penobscot Square in Brewer.
