Legal clinics on tax, tenant law to be offered at libraries

AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project will hold clinics on tax law this month and tenant law next month through the Maine Regional Library System.

People will be able to go to participating libraries, watch the presentations and ask questions, according to a press release issued by the organization.

“Getting Ready for Tax Season” will be presented at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, by attorney Sean Norton of Pine Tree Legal Assistance in Augusta.

“Renter’s Rights and Responsibilities” will be presented at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, by Frank D’Alessandro of Pine Tree Legal Assistance in Portland.

The legal information clinics are offered every third Tuesday of the month. Attorneys make their presentations at the Maine State Library in Augusta. They are available at libraries around the state through a video conferencing system.
