SANFORD, Maine — Police are seeking a suspect who held up a convenience store at gunpoint in the village of Springvale on Tuesday night.

Sanford Deputy Chief Tim Strout said the suspect entered the store at 10 p.m., threatened the clerk with a firearm and demanded cash. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The male suspect is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with green or gray eyes, according to Strout. He was wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt, jeans, hiking boots, green gloves and a ski mask.

Strout said it’s unclear where the suspect may have gone. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the Sanford Police Department’s Tip line at 324-9710, ext. 4.
