Two seek Cushing selectman seat

By Stephen Betts, BDN Staff

CUSHING, Maine — Residents will have a contested race for the single selectman seat up for election.

Martha Marchut and Randolph Robbins have filed papers before the deadline passed, and qualified for the municipal ballot.

The winner will succeed Willard Payson, who did not seek re-election.

Selectman Alton Grover is running unopposed for another selectman seat.

Winners of both seats will serve three-year terms.

There is no school board seat up for a vote this year in Cushing.

The municipal election is scheduled from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 18, at the town office.

A town meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. the following evening at the Cushing Community Center.
