PERTH-ANDOVER, New Brunswick – The passing of Shirbie Kinney, 89, occurred Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Hotel Dieu Hospital. She was born Aug. 4, 1923, in Island Falls, daughter of William and Hester Forsythe Markey.
Shirbie married Chesley Kinney, in 1974 and moved to Tilley, New Brunswick. She was very much at home in New Brunswick with her adopted family, friends and church family. She attended Calvary Tabernacle for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Chesley, in 1992. Shirbie is survived by her four children: son and daughter of Glen P. Shaw – George M. Shaw and wife, Ida, of Pittston, and Gloria Shaw Luettich and husband, Dick, of Savannah Ga., and daughter and son of Alban J. Pelletier Sr. – Jackie Pelletier May and husband, Jim, of Mapleton, and Alban J. Pelletier Jr. and wife, Donna, of Stratton; sister, Ruth Lavigne of Greenville; sister-in-law, Margaret Markey of Bangor; and stepdaughter who was like one of her own, Anita Lovely and husband, Mike, of Mapleton. She leaves behind nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Jennifer Ann May, in 1997; son-in-law, Keith Davis, in 2007; five brothers and two sisters. The family thanks Mom’s caregivers: Dr. Bell, Joyce Barr, John and Emily Pelkey, and Carla Adams for the wonderful care and love that they gave Mom.
There will be a church service and interment in late spring at Calvary Tabernacle, Perth-Andover, New Brunswick.
