FALMOUTH – Patricia E. Turner, 87, passed away peacefully Monday morning, Feb. 4, 2013, at The Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Scarborough. She was born Nov. 27, 1925, in Bangor, a daughter of Joseph and Ida (Bush) Clarke.
She grew up in the Bangor area and attended local schools there; graduating from Bangor High School. On Feb. 21, 1944, she married her husband, Eugene “Bud” Turner, in Bangor. They moved to Lewiston/Auburn where they raised their daughters. Some of Patricia’s main enjoyments were reading cookbooks, painting and spending time with family. All who knew her will remember her wry sense of humor and quick wit.
She is survived by her four children, Linda Whitlow and husband, Joseph, of Daphne, Ala., Pamela Leutze and husband, Clark, of Yardley, Pa., Becky Sherwood and husband, Chuck, of Auburn, and Patricia Bell and husband, Robert, of Poland. She also leaves behind one brother, Jack Clarke of Derry, N.H., as well as nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene; two sisters and seven brothers.
Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m. Friday at The Fortin Group/Plummer & Merrill Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services, 217 Turner St., Auburn, where a Liturgy of the Word service will begin 2 p.m. You are invited to share your condolences with the family through Patricia’s online guest book at
