Waterville man accused of assaulting ex-wife

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

WATERVILLE, Maine — An argument between a Waterville man and his ex-wife Friday afternoon escalated to the point where he pushed her to the ground and wound up under arrest, police said.

Numerous witnesses observed Donald Anderson, 43, shove the woman to the ground in the parking lot of the city’s post office, Waterville Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said.

Anderson fled the scene after one of the witnesses notified police, Rumsey said, but officers located him nearby and placed him under arrest.

The woman didn’t have any injuries that required medical treatment, the deputy chief said.

Anderson was charged with domestic violence assault and brought to Kennebec County Jail, where he remained Tuesday, Rumsey said.
