HAMPDEN, Maine — An argument that resulted in a man being struck with a broomstick ended with a Hampden woman going to jail Friday night, according to police.
Melissa Campbell, 50, is accused of domestic violence assault, a Class D misdemeanor, according to Hampden police Chief Joseph Rogers.
Campbell and a male family member had been heatedly arguing throughout the night Friday, Rogers said, and police were called at about 7:30 p.m., he said.
The man had red marks on his back from being struck by the broomstick but was otherwise uninjured, Rogers said.
Campbell was brought to Penobscot County Jail and later released on $60 bail, according to a jail official.
