Fender-bender leads police to arrest woman for OUI

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A woman was arrested after a minor traffic accident early Sunday, police said.

Anita Koch, 42, rear-ended another vehicle at the intersection of Oak and Washington streets just after midnight, according to Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards.

When Officer Josh Kuhn investigated and interviewed Koch, he could smell alcohol coming from her and her vehicle, the sergeant said.

Koch failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for operating under the influence, Edwards said.

She was given a breathalyzer, brought to Penobscot County Jail and later released.
