BANGOR, Maine — A local woman arrested Friday morning became angry when she was put into handcuffs and smashed a police cruiser’s rear window, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.
Jackie L. Madore, 42, was wanted for three outstanding warrants and was arrested at about 8:45 a.m. Friday when Officer Jason Stuart responded to a complaint of screaming and yelling at a Cedar Street apartment and she opened the door, the sergeant said.
“They put her in handcuffs [and] she started to escalate,” Edwards said. “She actually kicked out the rear window of the police car.”
Madore was charged with felony aggravated criminal mischief for damaging the cruiser, as well as disorderly conduct and for the outstanding warrants.
Police also found some drug paraphernalia that tested positive for cocaine and charged Madore with felony possession of scheduled drugs, Edwards said.
The charge was elevated to a felony because of prior convictions, Stuart wrote in his report, the sergeant said.
“That could change,” he said.
Madore was taken to Penobscot County Jail and remained behind bars Monday afternoon, a jail official said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
