Lyman D. Conary

ORLAND – Lyman D. Conary, 73, died Feb. 1, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. Lyman was born in Orland and lived his entire life in the community.
Lyman and two of his brothers, Kent and Raymond, operated Conary Brothers Construction for 35 years. During that time Lyman served as road commissioner and on the planning board for many years for the town of Orland. Lyman was an avid reader, especially of historically themed books and when they were younger, he and Jean traveled extensively around the U. S. He also enjoyed participating with the members of Community of Christ Church in activities, and was loved and respected within the church. He was a Mason for the past 40 years at Rising Sun Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jean; her children, Sherry, Kerry and Graydon; their spouses, Mickey, Maryann and Daphne respectively; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two brothers, Raymond and Kent Conary of Orland; their wives, Maple and Donna; sister-in-law, Kathie; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Wyman and Nellie; and siblings, Adelbert, Harold, Doris, Ernest and Bob.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Community of Christ Church, 283 State St., Ellsworth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Community of Christ Church or a charity of your choice in Lyman’s name.
