HAMPDEN – Ralph W. Green, 78, passed away peacefully Jan. 31, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at his home. Ralph was born March 27, 1934, in Winterport, to John and Lida (Cole) Green.
Ralph grew up and was educated in Winterport. He worked for several years at Mack Baking Co. before working in housekeeping at Eastern Maine Medical Center for more than 30 years. Ralph loved to putter around his workshop working with his many tools. He was an avid gardener and lover of all animals, especially his cat, Poopsy and dog, Bucky. Ralph enjoyed many good times playing cards with his sister and brother-in-law, Joe and Jane Garland, as well as spending time with other family from near and far. Ralph will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and friend.
Ralph is survived by his daughters, Sandra Allison and husband, Michael, and Anna Green, all of Hampden; his beloved grandson, Michael “Mickey” Allison of Hampden; special friend, Don Thompson; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ralph was predeceased by his wife, Theresa; four brothers and two sisters.
A funeral service celebrating Ralph’s life will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, with the Rev. Dick Woehr officiating. Interment will be in the spring beside his wife at Elmwood Cemetery, Searsport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ralph’s honor may be made to Bangor Humane Society, 693 B Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
