VERONA ISLAND – Michael O. Harriman, 68, passed away Jan. 28, 2013, with family by his side at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 30, 1944, in Belfast, son of the late Owen and Mary Izeldia (Landerville) Harriman.
Michael was a longtime fisherman and mechanic, who could fix anything put his way. He enjoyed being on the water, traveling and most of all spending time with his family and friends and his two dogs, Pippy and Merlon.
He is survived by his wife of eight years, Dorothy Harriman of Verona Island; his children: daughters, Bridgette and Dennis Harvey, and Susan and Jon Lounsberry, all of Bucksport, and son, Timothy Turner and his wife, Laurie, of LaGrange; stepchildren, Sally and Lennie Bridges of Penobscot and Ailean Seekins of Bucksport; his sister, R. Kahliel Johnson of Stockton Springs; 13 grandchildren, Phillip Harvey and his wife, Kayla, Andrew Harvey and his wife, Jessica, Lillie Noak Harvey, Ben, Emily, Samantha and Michaela Lounsberry, Kate, Sam, Mary and Harvard Bridges, Caleb and Evan Seekins; five great-grandchildren, Addison and Miranda, Wyatt and Madelyn, and Miya; and two nephews. Michael also will be missed by his very good friends, Larry Dakin, Billy Grant, Fred Chase and Jimmy Sanders, and many others and you know who you are. The children thank you all for being such wonderful friends to Mike and Dottie throughout the years. He was predeceased by one stepson, David Seekins.
A celebration of life will be held noon Saturday, Feb. 2, at Verona Town Hall, 16 School St., Verona Island. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home with Direct Cremation of Maine, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
