EASTON – Mark S. Beaton, 57, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning, Jan. 29, 2013, as the result of a tragic fire at his home. He was born Oct. 19, 1955, in Salem, Mass., the son of Duncan E. and Dorothy M. (Burns) Beaton.
He was a graduate of C.B. East High School, Furlong, Pa., and went on to serve his country with the U.S. Navy. He had been employed by J.M. Huber, Easton, and was a dedicated caregiver to his brother Paul for the past eight years.
He was predeceased by his brother, Paul E. Beaton, Jan. 29, 2013. Mark is survived by his parents, Duncan and Dorothy Beaton of Houlton; three sons, Mark S.J. Beaton of North Carolina, Matthew Beaton and Nathan Beaton, both of Easton; two stepdaughters, Christina Spiers of Fort Fairfield and Alyssa Beaton of Louisville, Ky.; one stepson, Shaun Spiers of Easton; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles D. and Laureen Beaton of Easton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debra A. and Timothy Guiod of Houlton and Dawn E. and Frederick Quelle of Coralville, Iowa; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his former wives, Roberta (McPherson) Rauen of North Carolina and Kimberly Lewis of Kentucky.
A memorial service to celebrate the lives of Mark and Paul will be conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with Pastor Vaughn Martin officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the service at Easton Wesleyan Church, 210 Center Road, Easton.
