STEUBEN – Veril W. Pinkham, 77, a lifetime resident of Washington County, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, in Bangor. Veril was born Dec. 28, 1935, to Calvin E. and Theresa E. Pinkham.
He grew up in the Steuben area and attended local schools. As a youth Veril was known to dig clams for currency and pleasure. Later, as a man and father, he passed this same enjoyment onto his own children. Veril also went on to make his career as owner and captain of the lobster boat, Cedora C. His love of the outdoors was not limited to the beach and the sea. In his free time Veril looked forward to his time hunting in the local woods and fields. He was also a member of Brewer Eagles Aerie and enjoyed traveling to square dances and similar social events. Veril will also be remembered for his love of keeping in touch by talking on the telephone, and VHF and citizen band radio.
He is survived by his sons, Calvin E. Pinkham and his wife, Reneé, of Steuben, Randy M. Pinkham and his significant other, Amy Hall, of Steuben and Veril W. “Boody” Pinkham Jr. and his wife, Jessica, of Columbia; their mother, Cedora Alley of Beals; and grandchildren, Kristopher C. and Kassydee T. Pinkham of Steuben, Pearl E. and Carter M. Pinkham of Steuben and Isiah W. and Keyontae R. Pinkham of Columbia. Veril was predeceased by his parents; daughters, Laura Ann and Aura Evelyn Pinkham; brother, Merle Pinkham; and sisters, Evelyn Davis, Rose Marie and Norma Rosetta Pinkham.
A funeral ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Milbridge Chapel of Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Kelley officiating. Arrangements by Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge.
