Carol A. ‘Boomer’ Dishaw

NEWBURGH – Carol Ann Dishaw, 72, passed away Jan. 28, 2013 at her home in Newburgh after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born July 4, 1940, in Old Town, to Vernon P. and Marguerite M. (Ste. Marie) Cust.

Carol attended Old Town High School and worked for 22 years at GTE Sylvania in Bangor. It was there that she met and married the love of her life, Andrew Dishaw. Together they made five trips in their RV to visit their daughter in Alaska, which were all memorable trips. Carol enjoyed sports, particularly softball, bowling and golf, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. Carol will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Andrew C. Dishaw of Newburgh; loving children, Dana Sullivan Jr. and wife, Belinda, of Carmel, Debbie Lindsey and husband, Dick Lindsey Jr., of Alaska, Theresa St. Louis and husband, Dale, of Hermon, Darlene Sullivan and husband, Jon Lovett, of Hermon, Doreen Williamson and husband, Glen, of Newburgh, LuAnn Brown and husband, Claude, of Levant and Robin Dishaw Chaffee and husband, Scott, of Glenburn; grandchildren, Cody Sullivan and fiancée, Fawn, Nick Sullivan and fiancée, Heather, Tyler Sullivan, Brady, Cole, and Meagen St. Louis, Josh Giles and wife, Sarah, Dustin and Devon Lovett, Judi Cyr and husband, Matt, Karol Brown, Kristina and Christopher Chaffee; stepgrandchildren, Sunshine and Shannon Ayer; her adored great-grandchildren, Addie Giles, Liam Giles and Ainsley Sullivan; her special brother whom she referred to as “Bro” Alan Cust and wife, Sue, of Milford; a special aunt and uncle, Jo and Buzzy Snow of Bradley; her nieces and nephew, Kim, Kelley and Jeff and their families; her sister-in-law, Gina Eldridge and husband, Don, of New York; and her brothers-in-law, Ronnie Dishaw and wife, Sharon and Michael Dishaw and wife, Wendy, all of New York.
