DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — A man from Greenville Junction was indicted Monday by the Piscataquis County Grand Jury on 31 counts of sex crimes against minors.

Shawn David Worster, 49, was charged with 10 counts of Class A gross sexual assault, 10 counts of Class A unlawful sexual contact and 11 counts of Class B unlawful sexual contact.

Piscataquis County District Attorney R. Christopher Almy said the charges stem from a case involving two children — one boy and one girl — roughly between the ages of 5 to 10 years old.

The children outlined for police how the defendant committed sexual crimes against them, said Almy on Monday afternoon. “This happened over a three-year period. When police investigated the case, the defendant gave a rather complete and detailed confession.”

Worster is expected to appear in Piscataquis County Superior Court on Tuesday morning.
