BUCKSPORT – Cynthia Haskell Folsom, 81, died Jan. 25, 2013. She was born May 20, 1931, in Dexter, the daughter of Leroy Haskell and Madelyn Daggett Haskell.
Cynthia was a member of Elm Street Congregational Church, Bucksport, where she enjoyed working on the church suppers, the Christmas church fairs and volunteering at Bucksport Food Pantry. She enjoyed playing the clarinet in the Brewer Hometown Band. She had moved from the area but always considered her home Bucksport. She was always good natured, never asked anything from anyone, and was only too willing to help or be there. She will be sadly missed by many.
She is survived by three children, Lynn DeGrenier and her husband, Paul, of Bangor, Richard Folsom of Denver, N.C., and Ann Suggs and her husband, Ted, of Cornelius, N.C.; and seven grandchildren. She also leaves behind two sisters, Elaine Knowland and her husband, Tom, of Matthews, N.C., and Hilda Harlow and her husband, Warren, of Wallingord, Conn.; and her beloved cat, Smokey. She was predeceased by her husband, Linwood J. Folsom, in 1991; and her longtime companion and soul mate, John Kennedy, in 2009.
Family and friends will gather for visitation 10 a.m. until the time of service 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Elm Street Congregational Church, Bucksport, with Pastor Peter Remick officiating.
