GREENVILLE JUNCTION – Cecilia A. Giroux, 86, died Jan. 24, 2013, at C.A. Dean Hospital, Greenville. She was born Dec. 14, 1926, in Jackman, a daughter of Edmond and Aurore (Plante) Tanguay.
She worked as a nurse’s aide at C.A. Dean Hospital and later finished her healthcare career as a licensed practical nurse. Later she worked as a scale house technician at Beaudry Lumber. She was well known for her popular column “News From Dean Park,” which was published in the Moosehead Messenger. After moving to Dean Park, Cecilia contributed countless hours, volunteering help, arranging activities, parties and assisting those in the park who needed her help.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred E. Giroux; a sister and five brothers. She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Giroux of Greenville; a son, William Giroux and his wife, Lynn, of Shirley; a daughter, Connie Giroux of Greenville; a son, Robert Giroux of Wilton; a sister, Rita Lampinen of Greenville Junction; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated, 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Greenville, with Father Kevin Martin officiating.
