GLENBURN – Lora M. Treadwell, 78, died Jan. 23, 2013, surrounded by her family at a Bangor hospital. She was born Feb. 21, 1934, in Bangor.
Lora graduated from Hermon High School, class of 1953. She liked to knit, paint, read, make candles, and especially enjoyed gardening. Lora was a very loving mother and grandmother.
Lora is survived by her children, Margaret Treadwell of Glenburn, Eleanor Malcolm and her husband, Herbert III, of Kenduskeag and Anthony Treadwell of Glenburn; grandchildren, Jason Malcolm and his fiancée, Danielle, of Portland and Bethany Malcolm of Orono; foster siblings, Gale Applebee, Marlene Archer, Marvin Brawn, Hayward Brawn, Theresa Corcoran and Helen Parsons; and many special friends. Lora was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Ellery Treadwell; a daughter, Ellen; foster parents, Alvin and Margaret Brawn; and foster siblings, Freeman Brawn and Eva Danforth. The family expresses their thanks to Dr. Grant, Eastern Maine Medical Center Trauma surgery team, the Grant ICU nurses, and Northeast Nephrology for the loving care provided to Lora.
A memorial reception will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at First Apostolic Church of Brewer, 14 Parkway South, Brewer.
