WINTERPORT and HAMPDEN – Michelle D. (Bedard) Hamor “Mickie” passed away unexpectedly Jan. 17, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. Mickie was born July 9, 1971, the daughter of Henry and Donna Bedard.

Mickie graduated from Hampden Academy, class of 1990, and spent most of her working years in the food service industries waitressing and cooking at Nicky’s Cruisin’ Diner, Town Café and Sisters, now known as Rosie’s Diner. At one time Mickie had managed her own business, Old Port Café. Any of her spare time was spent with the loves of her life, her daughters, Taylor and Mackenzie, along with her family and friends. Mickie shared a special bond with Taylor and Mackenzie. Between the three of them they loved animals. They cherished the time they spent together, whether it was just sitting home or doing things together. Mickie’s most precious thing in life was her daughters and family. They were the love of her life. Mickie will be sadly missed by many people, but never forgotten.

Mickie is survived by her two daughters, Taylor and Mackenzie Hamor; the father of her children, Chris Hamor; her mother Donna (Mingo) Bedard and her companion, Donald Smith, of Hampden, whom she thought of as her second father; one brother, Derek Mingo and his wife, Michele, of Lamoine; two sisters, April Bedard and companion, Corey, of Bangor and Marie Lavin and her husband, Harold, of Winterport; an uncle, Donald Mingo and his wife, Julie, of Old Town; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mickie also had someone else special to share her life with that she loved dearly, Bob Parson of Newburgh, along with Bob’s entire family. Mickie will be remembered fondly by Roger “Bub” Johnson and Vicki Johnson. Bub viewed Mickie as his own daughter, and held a very strong connection with her, she looked at him as a father figure. Mic shared an extremely close connection with Cherish and Matt Lang and Matt’s wife, Dee, she viewed them as her own siblings and loved them very much along with many special friends who Mickie cherished and loved. Mickie was predeceased by her father, Henry “Hank”; grandfather, Donald “Gunky”; grandmother, Dorothy “Mammie”; and her oldest brother, Scotty.

Family and friends are invited to visit 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, with Pastor Steve Nute officiating.
