OLD TOWN – Albertina (Landry) Matthei, 99, passed away Jan. 18, 2013, at a local nursing facility. She was born Aug. 17, 1913, in Old Town, the daughter of Herbert and Caroline (Tardif) Landry.
Albertina was raised on Water Street, Old Town, and moved to Massachusetts with her sister, Theresa, for employment. In 1939 she married Ardnt and moved to Fox Lake, Ill., until 2001 when she moved back to Old Town. She was a communicant of Holy Family, Resurrection of the Lord Parish, Old Town.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Ardnt Matthei, she was predeceased by brothers, Eugene, Pierre and Clarence Joseph Landry; sisters, Sister Marie Eveline Landry and Theresa Landry Cox; and stepson, Art Theodore Matthei. Albertina is survived by her sister, Sister Mary Louise Landry, Sister of Mercy, of Portland; sister-in-law, Margaret Landry of California; nieces, Evelyn Petrie, Lanette Petrie, Margaret Roy, Marie Forbus, Jean Mack and Rose Landry; nephews, Clarence, Arthur, Brian and James Landry of Maine; nieces, Carolyn Landry, Pamela DeMeules, Janet Hubbard, Bridget Briant; and nephews, Pierre, Mark and Paul Landry of California.
