MILBRIDGE – Anne M. Kennedy, 53, died Jan. 15, 2013, at Down East Community Hospital after bravely fighting a battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 4, 1960, in Milbridge, daughter of Paul and Shirley (Strout) Kennedy.
Anne was well known as a hard worker and she loved working seasonal jobs. She always made sure to be one of the best at the job she was doing. She dug worms and clams, picked brush, made wreaths, sternmanned and picked crab meat. Some of her favorite things to do included playing horseshoes and cribbage. She also loved to visit and hangout with friends. She shared the enjoyment of horses and barrel racing with her family. She always had a dog and a great love for cats, she had many throughout her life. Her cats, and dog, Dayzee, were comforting companions throughout her battle with cancer.
Anne was predeceased by her father, Paul Kennedy; companion of 11 years, Alton Jellison; and niece, Jill Kennedy. She is survived by her only son, Cory Kennedy; mother, Shirley Kennedy; and siblings, Neil Kennedy, Terrie West and husband, Dennis, and Paul Kennedy and wife, Grace. Anne also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Megan Arey and husband, Heron, Morgan Kennedy-West, Chase Kennedy and fiancee, Amanda Caler, Cole Kennedy and partner, Danielle Pinkham, Kyle Kennedy and fiancee, Katie Risbridger, Nicholas Kennedy, and Kelli Kennedy; and several great-nieces, all of Milbridge.
