PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A Presque Isle man is facing two counts of aggravated assault after a reported fight on Riverside Drive Monday afternoon, according to police.

Officers responded to the scene after two 911 calls came in reporting a fight between a man and a woman, according to a news release from Presque Isle police.

Sgt. Mike Barnes and Officer Kevin Schumacher responded and found Michael Charm, 32, of Presque Isle and another man and woman at the scene, according to the release.

Charm and the other man had gotten into an altercation after Charm had allegedly assaulted the woman inside her vehicle, the release said. Neither victim was seriously injured.

Charm was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, a Class B felony due to the fact that a machete found at the scene was used in the attack, according to the release.

Charm’s bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 surety, the release said. He is being held at the Caribou Police Department.
