GRAND ISLE – Kenneth V. Parker, 55, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 9, 2013, at his home in Van Buren. He was born Jan. 14, 1957, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, son of the late Lionel and Jeannine (Michaud) Parker.
He graduated from Van Buren Secondary School, class of 1975. Ken drove truck across country for more than 20 years, but most recently worked for the Department of Transportation in Van Buren. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment.
He is survived by his beloved companion of 23 years, but as Ken would say, “My wife,” Micheline “Mimi” Plante of Edmundston, New Brunswick; one son, Todd Parker and fiancee, Amanda Pulkkinen; one daughter, Amy Hollis of Connecticut; one stepson, Joey Dunphy and fiancee, Tina Levesque, of Edmundston, New Brunswick; one grandson, Nathan Dunphy of Edmundston, New Brunswick; special dog, Candie; one sister, Sue Parker and companion, David Silsbee, of Caribou; two brothers, Alan Parker of Jefferson and Mike Parker and wife, Carol, of Grand Isle; several nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Gail Parker, Dec. 23, 2012.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at St. Gerard Church, Grand Isle. Family and friends may offer their condolences 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the church. Spring interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
