Greenwood man injured in crash during morning commute

By Tony Reaves, Sun Journal

NORWAY, Maine — A Greenwood man on his way to work slid on the icy road Thursday morning, spinning into a utility pole according to Norway police.

Daniel Robichaud, 25, of Greenwood was turning a corner on Greenwood Road and slid on the ice, according to Officer Robert Federico II. Robichaud overcorrected and spun out, slamming the right side of his Ford Escape into a utility pole.

The crash happened at around 6:15 a.m. Thursday. Federico said PACE transported Robichaud to Stephens Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for cuts on his hand caused by his broken windows. The vehicle was totaled, Federico said.

Federico blamed the crash on slippery road conditions.
