Regina S. ‘Jean’ Peters

MATTAWAMKEAG – Regina S. “Jean” Peters, 80, wife of Vaughn Peters, passed away Jan. 8, 2013 at a Lincoln hospital. She was born Aug. 25, 1932, in West Seboeis, the daughter of William and Edna (Bragg) Shaw.

Jean was a great mother, wife and homemaker. She was proud of her CNA degree in nursing and enjoyed being a caregiver. She was an active and faithful member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She enjoyed traveling and had been to England and Scotland. She was an avid reader. She will be sadly missed but leaves many happy memories.

In addition to her husband of 64 years, Vaughn, she is survived by a daughter, Deborah Klimas and her husband, Bill, of East Millinocket; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Peters of Woodville; grandchildren, Stephen Klimas, Cheryl (Klimas) Lakeman, Lynda Fogg, Allyson Coro, Scott Peters, Amilia and Chantelle Landry; great-grandchildren, Tim and Amber Klimas, Jenna Lakeman, Lirion and Carrie Murchison, Josh Coro, and Wulf Landry; a brother, Richard Shaw of Millinocket; several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a special kitty, Skittles. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Richard F. Peters; and siblings, Norma Foote, Francis Shaw, Mary Pratt, Avis Keene, Christine Pratt, and Hattie Lovejoy.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Clay funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Lev Sherman officiating.
