AUBURN, Maine — A man and two women are facing cocaine charges after a traffic stop Wednesday morning, police said.

Amanda Beth Rodriguez, 27, of Auburn; Margoliz Julie Velazquez, no age given, of Hartford, Conn.; and Markevin Faucette, 39, of Lewiston, were allegedly heading north from Connecticut after receiving a shipment of cocaine, according to Department of Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Maine Drug Enforcement agents and Auburn police stopped the trio’s vehicle as it was exiting the Maine Turnpike in Auburn, according to McCausland.

Upon searching the vehicle, agents seized 72 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $7,500, according to McCausland. The vehicle was stopped shortly after midnight.

Rodriguez’s Auburn apartment was also searched, and additional drug paraphernalia was seized, McCausland said.

The three are being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on $75,000 bail.
