BUCKSPORT, Maine — The Verso paper mill here has a new manager.
Matt Archambeau has been named the new manager of the Bucksport mill, Bill Cohen, a spokesman for the mill, told the Bangor Daily News.
Archambeau previously was manager of the Verso mill in Sartell, Minn., which was permanently shuttered after a fatal explosion in May 2012. Subsequently, the Bucksport mill absorbed some of the work that had been done in Sartell.
This is a return to Bucksport for Archambeau, who began his career at the local mill 20 years ago, Cohen said. After 14 years in Bucksport, Archambeau moved to Verso’s corporate offices in Memphis, before being named manager of the Sartell mill.
Wally McDonald, who has been manager of the Bucksport mill for less than a year, will move into a corporate position with responsibilities spread across all three of Verso’s mills, Cohen said.
Cohen said the staffing changes are nothing out of the ordinary. “From time to time, we move our leadership around,” he said. “That’s not unusual for us.”
Verso also owns the paper mill in Jay.
