MILLINOCKET – Nadine Frances Morgan, 88, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at a Lincoln health care facility. Nadine was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Millinocket, daughter of Lucien and Lena (Surrette) Moore.
Nadine graduated from Stearns High School, class of 1942. Nadine liked to hunt and fish, and she loved hiking, even hiking to Chimney Pond when she was 83! She was a telegraph operator and she also worked for Lux Manufacturing Co., putting the timers into the bombs during the war. She also donated blood on a regular basis for many years. She loved working with her hands, knitting, crocheting and making Christmas wreaths. She loved her cat, Chatty, whom she had for 18 years.
Nadine is survived by her daughter, Gail Curtis and husband, John, of Millinocket; grandson, Bobby Raymond and the mother of his children, Kristan Harmon, of Buxton; great-grandchildren, Caden and Cohen Raymond; and sisters, Jane Ireland and husband, Fred, of Montoursville, Pa., and Lois Moore of Augusta. In addition to her parents, Nadine was predeceased by her husband, John “Sol” Morgan; and sisters, Phyllis Brewster and Colleen Moore.
At Nadine’s request there will be no viewing. Friends may visit with the family 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where a brief memorial service will be conducted according to Nadine’s wishes.
