VAN BUREN, Maine — Junior guard Parise Rossignol poured in 49 points, one of the highest point totals ever in Maine schoolgirl basketball history, to lead the Van Buren Crusaders to a 66-48 schoolgirl basketball victory over the Fort Kent Warriors Thursday night.

Regular-season scoring records for the state are not kept, but tourney records have been compiled. For comparison purposes, Lawrence’s Cindy Blodgett holds the single game tourney scoring record with 47 in a 1994 game.

Rossignol finished with 17 field goals, including four 3-pointers, and 11 free throws. She also grabbed 17 rebounds for the Crusaders, now 5-2. Felisha Bouchard chipped in with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Rossignol, the daughter of former Van Buren High and University of Maine star Matt Rossignol, has verbally committed to attend UMaine in the fall of 2014.

Lauren Doak paced 6-2 Fort Kent with 21 points.
