Phoebe Mae Wade

BRADFORD – Phoebe Mae Wade, 82, passed away Jan. 1, 2013, with family by her side. Phoebe was born May 20, 1930, in Milford, daughter of Fred Emerson and Addie May Hamilton.
Phoebe lived for family. Whoever had the pleasure of meeting her instantly became family. From a family gathering to visiting for a cup of coffee, she loved to have people around. Up until she became very ill, she had joined the Bradford Baptist Church family. She enjoyed reading the “Daily Bread” and meeting with her friend, Bonnie to discuss their study group. Phoebe corresponded with a longtime friend, Margaret Brooks of Bradley through phone calls and letters and was very close to her nieces and nephews and kept in touch with them throughout the years. Phoebe was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Phoebe is survived by two wonderful daughters, Sherry and husband, John Fletcher Sr., of Kenduskeag and Donna and husband, Arthur Fletcher Sr., of Kenduskeag; four grandchildren, John Fletcher II and wife, Mallory, of Bradford, April and husband, Phil Jones, of Orneville, Richard McClure Jr. and Crystal Kingsbury of Bradford and Arthur Fletcher II and wife, Nicole, of Orrington; and six great-grandchildren, Jamie and Brandon Jones, Meriah and Merina Kingsbury, Jacob and Garrett Fletcher. Phoebe was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Stanley Wade; five brothers, John, Charles, Alfred, Oscar and Kenneth; as well as three sisters, Charlotte, Alice and Mary. Phoebe’s family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice for all their support and a special thanks to Cancer Care, especially Dr. Garrett and her two special nurses, Jennifer and Lee. Phoebe loved them like they were family too.
A viewing will be held 2-4 p.m. Jan. 5, at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, with the Rev. Donald Booker from Bradford Baptist Church officiating. A spring burial at Williams Cemetery, Bradford, to be announced later.
